Boustead Holdings Berhad, an investment holding company, engages in property and industrial, plantation, pharmaceutical, heavy industries, and trading, finance, and investment businesses in Malaysia and internationally. Its Property and Industrial division is involved in the property development; manufacturing and trading of building materials; and construction and leasing out of commercial and retail properties, as well as owns and operates hotels. The company's Plantation division plants oil palm and processes crude palm oil; and researches oil palm tissue culture and genetics. Its Heavy Industries division is involved in the shipbuilding activities; fabrication of offshore structures; and restoration and maintenance of vessels and defense related products. The company's Trading, Finance, and Investment division provides commercial, Islamic, and investment banking services; stock broking services; and life and general insurance services, as well as owns and operates retail petrol station network under the BHPetrol brand; and offers air transportation and flight services. Its Pharmaceutical division researches, develops, manufactures, markets, and trades in pharmaceutical products; and supplies medical and hospital equipment. The company also provides engineering and technical, project management, hire purchase financing, and money lending services; maintains and services submarines; maintains, repairs, and overhauls aircraft wheels and brakes; contract research, development, and testing services; and manufactures fibre cement and surface coating products. In addition, it is involved in the supply of spare parts for vessels; trading and wholesaling of consumer products; construction, repair, and maintenance of boats and yachts; distribution of building products; and operation of a university, as well as operates as a shipping, insurance, and travel agent.
