It also engages in the manufacture and sale of medical instruments; sale of medical supplies; research and development of intraocular lenses; healthcare business comprising products utilizing self-assembling peptide gel technology and bone graft substitute materials; life care business consisting of turf grass for green infrastructure; veterinary medical business, such as the sale of supplements for dogs and cats through animal hospitals and veterinary pharmaceutical wholesalers; and food business, including the sale and import/export of agricultural and marine products. The company sells its products to hospitals, ophthalmological clinics, optical shops, pharmaceutical wholesalers, and distributors. It exports its products to approximately 80 countries. Menicon Co., Ltd. was incorporated in 1943 and is headquartered in Nagoya, Japan.
