Hi Ivan,
I noted in one of your previous posts the following:
You have to include both the stocks in the portfolio section and the orders section if you're starting to implement a new strategy.
For example if your current portfolio is holding stocks A and B and the orders section says sell B and buy C. You will buy stocks A and C directly. Hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Nevertheless, I find it extremely hard to implement a new strategy due to the following reasons:
1/ No order or priority to buy
2/ No way to manually simulate existing holdings (quantity and price)
3/ New backtests would reset a strategy and reference points, and the lack of #2
How would you recommend moving forward when implementing a new strategy?
I already have TSM, AMD and MTCH in my portfolio but at different prices than simulated in the strategy (see attached backtest)

Hi Fred,
Many thanks for your feedback. The purpose of the backtester is to provide you with the desired stocks in your portfolio going forward. If you already have positions in TSM, AMD and MTCH but at different prices, that is fine. Just find the difference between the model's positions and your positions and make the trades to get to the model's positions. Some tracking error between your actual strategy and the simulation is expected.
Kind regards,
