Singulus Technologies AG develops and assembles machines and systems for thin-film coating and surface treatment processes worldwide. The company operates through three segments: Solar, Life Science, and Semiconductor. The Solar segment offers crystalline solar cells focusing on high-performance cells, as well as thin-film solar cells based on copper-indium-gallium-diselenide and cadmium-telluride comprising various vacuum coating machines and systems for thermal processes, and machines for wet-chemical processing. The Life Science segment provides solutions for decorative coatings, medical technology, and machine and service solutions for the data storage areas focusing on vacuum coating machines for the finishing of surfaces and various wet-chemical cleaning machines for applications in the medical technology and consumer goods industries. This segment offers DECOLINE II; POLYCOATER, an inline vacuum cathode sputtering machine; MEDLINE production machine; and optical disc machines for the production of the optical disc formats, such as CD, DVD, dual layer blu-ray discs, and ultra HD blu-ray discs. The Semiconductor segment supplies special-purpose machines; and machine platforms, such as TIMARIS and ROTARIS for applications in magnetoresistive random access memory, sensory technology, power controllers, and microelectromechanical systems. It also offers process solutions for high-performance. The company's products are used in the photovoltaics, semiconductor, medical technology, packaging, glass and automotive, and battery and hydrogen markets. The company was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Kahl am Main, Germany.
